Disc Golf is one of the best lifetime fitness activities you could find to do. It is easy to learn, a healthy activity, accessible to people of all ages and fitness levels and has a low cost entry level to play. If you can throw and like to have fun in the great outdoors, you can play disc golf.

The Story
Although Disc Golf has been around since the early 70's, this activity has been low on the radar for females in the UK. Like a lot of minority activities and sports, unless you know it exists you are unaware of the benefits it can bring. So few women were known to be playing disc golf and so the UKWDGA was formed to build upon the successes of the first ever UK Women's Disc Golf Bag Tag League (known to us now as the Original Bag Tag League), a play anywhere any time League, and the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) Women's Global Events (WGE), held in England and Scotland in 2021.
The work undertaken by Founder members, Carole Findlay and Zoë Woodward increased awareness and demonstrated there was a need for a female focused community of disc golfers to help increase participation and raise awareness of the physical and mental health benefits of this low impact, get out in nature activity.
The UK Women's Disc Golf Association (UKWDGA) was formed in 2021 with the idea of establishing a strong female community with the opportunity to make a difference on how disc golf evolved, with women's needs in mind. Run by women for women. The objectives of the UKWDGA is to provide a platform for the sustainable growth of disc golf for all UK Nations and beyond, by raising awareness through promotional campaigns, applying for funding opportunities and sponsorship to further the growth and support for all female players through a variety of events.

Zoë Woodward
UKWDGA Founder Member and current UKWDGA Chair, Chair at Nottinghamshire Disc Golf Club and PDGA Europe Board Member. Zoë has represented Team GB twice in recent years.
Carole Findlay
UKWDGA Founder Member and current UKWDGA Secretary and creator of the Original UK Women's Bag tag League. Carole is also a Board Member of the non profit disc golf education organisation, Uplay Disc Golf.
Elva Preston
Elva has been sponsored by Team Ace since October 2021 and she is the winner of the first ever Female British Matchplay Championships 2022. She will be embarking on her debut FPO season in 2024.

Here's the next date for your diary everyone and it's FREE to enter for UKWDGA Members. Everyone else only has to spend £10 to enter and the UKWDGA will be paying green fees for everyone. Plus all Masters Division are automatically entered into the PDGA European Masters Event (like the Women's European Event) where you compete against players across Europe in your division. So get the date in your diary for the last UKWDGA event of the year. Tiered Registration will be opening August 2nd.
